Meet Bear.

Bear.
To start of the project I thought it was only fair to introduce my own fur babies. Oldest to youngest.
Fun facts:
Scared of absolutely everything
Doesn’t play with toys
Loves white fluffy small dogs (almost a little too much)
Loves to go for car rides but will put the window all the way down if you don’t put the child lock on
Dominates all of our dog beds and kicked our hound mix out of her bed to have the bigger one.
Loves food and will creep around the corner to get a piece of whatever you’re having.
Loves to pose for his photo
Will always let you bathe him and will strut around after like a model.

I am 14 years old this year and have been with my family since I was 8 months. I was rescued by one of my dads friend who at the time had their hands full with their own dogs and quickly found it a challenge to keep up with my history of finding any way to escape and go for a run.
My family had lost their first family dog not long before my arrival, and the home felt a little emptier from what I hear at least. My dad quickly fell in love with even the thought of me and my mom didn’t take much convincing to take on the challenge.
My arrival was kept a secret from my sisters to prevent any tears in the small chance it didn’t work out. I remember Sarah telling me the story from her view (she tells me the story a lot, I know I may be old but I can remember, anyways..) and how she heard mom on the phone to dad working out the details and when Sarah asked what she was talking about moms response was “your dad was just telling me he’s getting some homemade pickled vegetables from a friend”, she didn’t think much further but deep down felt anxious at the thought of it being something a little more exciting.
The day I arrived I remember looking out the window and seeing my dad leave for work, I was confused because I had only just arrived, turns out mom and dad need to work in order to buy me all my treats. I saw Sarah walk into the driveway with her friend (at the time I thought it was a stranger but I saw her stop to hug my dad by his car and figured she must be related to me) she looked up at the window and saw me, a little black dog. She raced to the door and I heard her say “wait he’s staying with us” , I was nervous to hear the answer as I’ve been so used to running from home but from then on it was love.
I slowly learned to stay close to my fur sister, Morgan. Morgan and I became soulmates from the first moment I met her (even though she didn’t always like when I bugged her). We would protect each other and we could always be found together. I would often play until she told me to stop. Morgan acted as my mom and taught me not to run (I still did occasionally, just couldn’t help the scent of a nice squirrel) and soon enough I was trusted and could be found helping my dad with his gardening and going for walks with Morgan every day.
I must admit I still enjoy to get a run in but I get tired quicker and would much rather stay close to whoever has food out. Losing Morgan 5 years ago was very hard on our family and I didn’t know how to move on and accept my best friend was gone but slowly I learned how to live my new life and a few months later I was introduced to a crazy puppy named Miley.
